Since it was founded on January 19, 2019 at the initiative of Mr. Wayan Ariawan, the SEC has been dedicated to providing free, non-profit English language education. In addition it also fosters a sense of ecological self through environmentally empowered activities. Finally, the presence of SEC is a response to the determination of Sidatapa Village as a tourist village in the Banjar District since 2017.

Before developing into a learning community that already has many branches throughout Bali, the initial process of establishment was taken through a difficult road. The social stigmatization of society formed by historical and environmental processualization is a complex problem faced
However, through persuasive approaches that are carried out continuously, the degree of social acceptance and social perception changes. In the end, the residents of Sidatapa Village fully support the presence of the English Corner Learning Community in their village. On the contrary, the presence of English Corner with educational activities and environmental movements indirectly dissolves the negative stigma that has been labeled to the residents of Sidatapa Village.

The form of support is for example by providing a place of learning for community students, maintaining comfort and a sense of security for foreign tutors and tourists visiting the village. Some villagers even offered their houses to be occupied by foreign tutors who came from abroad. By creating a sense of security and comfort, tourists are at home in the village. In addition, it can be a training ground for fostered students to actualize their English language skills.

The English Corner Learning Community does not have a building. They study anywhere. People's yard, in the village hall, the court yard, the beach and even in the forest or clove gardens.

Educational services are provided free of charge. Teachers or tutors are volunteers or volunteers. Those who become tutors sometimes donate not only their energy, time and intelligence, but also some of the material for the survival of the community. Tutors can come from anywhere depending on willingness to serve. Some of them even came from abroad such as Japan, England, Scotland, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany and some Scandinavian countries.
